I married my best friend Scott 13 years ago and am #furmamma to 2 kitties and we call Sugar Grove, IL. home sweet home. I grew up dancing classical Ballet and have taught and directed a dance program in my area for 21 years. In September of 2016 I began instructing cycle classes at USA Athletic Club and adult group fitness at PraxisFit.
If you think being a health coach means I enjoy eating bland boring food. Think again. I’m a foodie through and through. When I’m not coaching, or binging on sitcoms you’ll probably find me whipping up true goodness in the kitchen. I’m finding that chopping vegetables can be a work out, but I certainly love how it relaxes my mind. I even started an Instagram feed just for my favorite recipes. Come find me at @coachkatieskitchen
My journey towards health and striving towards full and quality living really started in 2014 when my husband and I both quit smoking. I love my husband and want to live forever! Quitting smoking was definitely a HUGE step in the right direction, but what happened afterwards, I was not prepared for. Like many who quit habits, I picked up another one. I gained probably 10 to 12 pounds. Had I just traded one health problem for another?
In the summer of 2015 my husband and I both got Fitbits and started to work out more vigorously and eat better. We both lost weight and found that doing hard things when you have the right motivation, the right support and the right goals is very possible!! Today I am so glad that I chose health over avoiding what felt really hard.. even impossible to accomplish.
That wasn't the first time I struggled with my weight, over the past 20 years....
I have portioned out my food.
I have counted calories.
I have struggled with keeping weight off
I have probably done every program in the book.
I discovered Bod “E” Talk in the summer of 2016. I honestly was NOT looking to lose any weight. I was tired of “weight loss programs”. I was sick of popping pills and drinking every next shake that would come onto the market. I was tired of feeling bad about myself after starving and not losing any weight with the programs I’d been on.
I joined Bod “E” Talk to gain healthier habits and a community of like-minded people. I got WAY more than I bargained for! I lost 12 lbs!! (you know the kind of pounds that are REALLY hard to lose) Bod E Talk has changed my life!
I want that same change for those around me who are struggling the same way I was. So I became a Bod E Talk Certified Coach. Everything that I have gone through the past 4 years has been in preparation to help others be successful in their health and wellness journey.
I’m someone you want in your corner. I will hold your hand as you cry because I understand that striving towards great things means doing hard things that you feel are impossible (but they are possible...I'm living proof!). I will also scream and jump up and down with you when you crush your goals!!

"When I started Bod E Talk with Katie I thought I knew a lot about wellness and nutrition. I've always been an active person as professional actor and dancer, but I wasn't good at planning my nutrition and eating mindfully.
